#1 in Meters Sold Nationwide | 2025 Aces Club

When the rankings were finalized this year, Alex Martin didn’t just appear on the leaderboard, he dominated it.

In just his second full year with UES, Alex ranked:

#1 in Meters Sold Nationwide

#5 in Most Contracts Sold

#5 in Total Electric Volume Sold

#7 in Total Gas Volume Sold

That translated to:

949 meters. 318 contracts. 20,715,828 kWh sold. 740,716 CCFs sold.

And he’s only been with UES since March of 2023.

But Alex’s story isn’t just about numbers.

It Starts With Simplicity

Some reps try to reinvent the system. Alex never did.

From day one, he committed to the basics; organization, follow-up, consistency.

“Stick to the system and stay organized. Many sales are lost by simply not following up. Keep good notes and use your calendar.”

That mindset helped him land some large, multi-meter corporate accounts this year. The kinds of deals that intimidate many reps.

His perspective?

“The ‘we’re corporate’ objection doesn’t really mean anything.”

He doesn’t overthink it. He doesn’t hesitate. He executes.

Confidence Built Over Time

When Alex first started in sales, like most people, there were stressful days.

Now?

“I stress less. I’m confident in my abilities. If I stick to the basics, I’ll get right back on track.”

That confidence didn’t come from shortcuts. It came from repetition and trust in the process.

He doesn’t ride emotional highs and lows. He shows up the same way whether it’s raining, freezing, or a slow week.

That consistency is what separates good reps from elite ones.

The Work Ethic That Doesn’t Flinch

What stands out most about Alex isn’t just what he accomplished, but it’s how he shows up.

No excuses. No reminders. No complaints.

If something needs handled, he handles it. If he says he’ll do something, it gets done.

He is reliable in a way that leaders rarely have to think about. And despite his success, he remains one of the best students in the room; never assuming he’s above the fundamentals.

He trusts the system. He doesn’t try to get fancy.

He just works.

A Career Shift That Changed Everything

Before sales, Alex worked in the culinary industry, which consisted of long hours, weekends, and missed family time.

This role changed that.

“Working 9–5 is huge. I have more time with my family. I’m not missing events because I have to work Saturdays.”

His biggest motivation is simple:

“My wife and kids. I want them to have great experiences and a better life.”

That drive turned into real results this year and not just on the leaderboard, but at home too. Upgrading their patio and awning this past summer so they could enjoy more time together was one of his proudest moments.

His “why” is personal.

And it shows.

Resilience Beyond the Field

In his first year in the field, Alex faced something much heavier than sales objections, he lost two close friends.

The field can be mentally demanding on its own. Navigating grief while continuing to build momentum required resilience most people never see.

Instead of pulling back, he leaned forward.

He chose to focus on gratitude. On opportunity. On building something bigger.

That quiet strength continues to define him.

What Success Looks Like to Him

Ask Alex what a great day looks like and the answer is simple:

"Close an appointment. Close something cold. Set tomorrow’s appointment. Hit the daily goal of 100 MWh."

Nothing flashy. Nothing complicated.

Just disciplined execution.

His Advice to New Reps

For anyone unsure if they’re “cut out” for sales:

“The yeses are out there. Keep pushing. Don’t get discouraged.”

And if he could go back to Day 1?

“Believe in yourself. It can seem impossible that a stranger would show you a utility bill, but saving businesses money can actually be pretty easy if you keep things simple and have their best interest.”

In just under two years, Alex Martin has become one of the top performers in the nation.

But the real story isn’t just the 949 meters.

It’s the discipline. The resilience. The purpose behind the work.

He’s not loud about it. He doesn’t need to be.

He just shows up, every single day, and gets it done.

And he’s just getting started.
